NANCY SPEARS

Nancy Spears is a resident of Northwest Pasadena who served as the board chair for the City of Pasadena Lincoln Avenue Project Area Committee and as a member of the Lincoln Avenue Specific Plan Advisory Committee, representing a voice of the citizens of Northwest Pasadena along the Lincoln Avenue corridor community on issues of blight, redevelopment, and city planning. The outcome of the work she participated in resulted in the creation and Pasadena City Council’s approval of the Lincoln Avenue Specific Plan on October 21, 2013, the vision of which is to re-purpose the Lincoln Avenue corridor from an industrial commercial area into a vibrant neighborhood-oriented district, with new housing options and a complement of local-serving retail and service businesses, office spaces, and community uses, all tied together with public improvements that create a vibrant and enjoyable pedestrian environment.

Ms. Spears currently serves as a board director for the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena which promotes the health, educational, social, vocational, and character development of kids and youth ages 6 to 18. During her 2015-2017 tenure as Chairman of the Board, she led the development of a 5-year strategic plan (2015-2020), establishing benchmarks for success and signposts to stays on track to fulfill the plan’s goals.

Ms. Spears received her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA from Duke University.  She has served on the HHP board since 2018.
